Muslim University of Morogoro( MUM) Location/Address, phone number ,Email Address & Social Networks; The Muslim University of Morogoro was founded by the Muslim Development Foundation (MDF) on 23rd October, 2004 by a Charter proclaimed by MDF, the proprietors of the University. Studies commenced in 2005/2006.

The University is located north of the magnificent Uluguru Mountains, some 4 km from the centre of Morogoro Municipality, about 300m off the Morogoro-Dodoma highway and just about 10-minutes walk from the main bus terminal at Msamvu. The campus, surrounded by a wall and set in beautiful gardens, covers about 18 hectares.

The objectives of the Muslim University of Morogoro (MUM) are to advance education through a variety of patterns, levels and modes of study and by a diversity of means by encouraging and developing learning and creativity, for the benefit of the community.

Specifically the Muslim community in the United Republic of Tanzania and beyond; to preserve, advance and disseminate knowledge and culture through teaching, scholarship and research, and to make available the results of such research; and to promote wisdom and understanding by example and, to develop the character of its students and staff by virtue of its corporate life guided by Islamic moral values.

Faculty of Law & Sharia’h

The Faculty of Law with Sharia’h offers a Bachelor of Laws with Sharia’h (LLBS) degree programme. This four-year undergraduate programme provides students with legal, academic and practical skills in various legal sectors. The knowledge, skills, necessary intellectual ability and competence in secular laws and Sharia’h (Islamic Law) are intended to prepare students work as magistrates, judges and legal practitioners who can serve the growing demands of the pluralist society.
It also offers two non degree programmes, namely Diploma in Law and Sharia’h and Certificate in Law and Sharia’h.

Faculty of Business Administration

The Faculty of Business Administration offers Bachelor of Business Administration degree programme which is a three year programme, covering six semesters each comprising 17 weeks, where 15 weeks for teaching and 2 weeks for University Examinations. In order to graduate, a student has to successfully complete a total of not less than 360 and not above 370 including internship course.

The Faculty also has four non-degree programmes namely; Diploma in Procurement and Logistics Management, Certificate in Procurement and Logistics Management, Diploma in Islamic Banking and Finance, and Certificate in Islamic Banking and Finance. The aim of non-degree programmes training is to provide knowledge and skills to enable learners apply them in their institutions as experts and professionals.

Faculty of Islamic Studies

The Faculty of Islamic Studies in conjunction with Education Department in the Faculty of Arts and Humanities currently offers a three-year degree programme which is called Bachelor of Islamic Studies with Education. The programme covers six semesters each comprising 17 weeks, 15 weeks for teaching and 2 weeks for University Examinations. In order to graduate, a student has to successfully complete a total of not less than 360 and not above 370. It is designed to meet the demand of formally trained teachers who can take career in teaching Islamic Knowledge.

Faculty of Science

The Faculty of Science in conjunction with the Department of Education in the Faculty of Arts and Humanities offers Degree and non Degree Programmes. For Degree Programmes offers Bachelor of Science with Education (BScED) covering six semesters each comprising 17 weeks, 15 weeks for teaching and 2 weeks for University Examinations. In order to graduate, a student has to successfully complete a total of not less than 360 and not above 370. The programme covers Chemistry, Biology, Physics and Mathematics teaching subjects.

The Faculty also offers four non degree programmes under two category; General Science and Medical Science. The programmes under general science are Certificate in Science and Laboratory Technology (CSLT), and Diploma in Science and Laboratory Technology (DSLT) and the programmes under Medical Science are Certificate in Medical Laboratory Technology (CMLT), and Diploma in Medical Laboratory Technology (DMLT).The Programmes covering four semesters each comprising 17 weeks, 15 weeks for teaching and 2 weeks for University Examinations.

Faculty of Arts and Humanities

This Faculty offers four Degree Programmes, namely: Bachelor of Arts (Education) and Bachelor of Arts (Mass Communication) covering six semesters each comprising 17 weeks 15 weeks for teaching and 2 weeks for University Examinations. In order to graduate, a student has to successfully complete a total of not less than 360 and not above 370 credits.
The Faculty also offers three Non-Degree Programmes (Diploma and Certificate) covering six semesters each comprising 17 weeks, 15 weeks for teaching and 2 weeks for University Examinations.
