Dit fee structure

Basic Information

Each student is obliged to pay for the following expenses in addition to the tuition fee:

Registration Fee Each year, each chosen candidate will be required to register and pay a registration fee of USD 40 for non-citizens of Tanzania and 10,000/= for citizens of Tanzania. The annual registration fee for postgraduate programs is TSh 50,000/= for Tanzanian students and USD 50 for international students.

Caution Cash

Every student is required to pay TSh. 10,000/= (if they are a citizen of Tanzania) or USD 50 (if they are not) as caution money. Upon successful completion of the course, the money will be returned if the student was not responsible for any loss or damage to the Institute’s property. If losses or damage total more than 10,000/= or USD 50, the student will be required to make up the difference.

 Identity Card

Each student must bring two stamp-sized photos that were taken lately as well as TSh. 10,000 for the payment of an identity card. This sum is paid only once. After filing a loss report from the police station and paying TSh. 10,000/= for Tanzanian citizens or USD 20 for international students, a replacement identity card can be issued.

A DIT Students’ Organization membership

The DIT Students Organization (DITSO) is open to all enrolled students at DIT. For first-year students, the membership registration fee is TSh 10,000 for citizens of Tanzania or USD 20 for those who are not citizens of Tanzania. Every continuing student must pay a membership subscription fee of TShs 5,000 (for Tanzanian students) or USD 20 (for students from countries other than Tanzania) per year.

Student Assistance Fund / Medical Donation

As a donation toward students joining NHIF, each DIT registered student is required to pay a total of TShs. 50,400/= for Tanzanian students or USD 60 for international students. Non-Tanzanian students enrolled in a postgraduate program must pay USD $75. Direct payment of this sum is made to the institute’s bank account. Students who possess NHIF cards are exempt from making the donation. However, the NHIF IDs are necessary prior to registration as proof of this contributions’ payment.
