Vacancies at Paradise & Wilderness Group Ltd; As General Manager for South Tanzania, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing the operations, guest experiences, and strategic development of our safari lodges and safari operations within the region.
You will be responsible for ensuring the highest level of guest satisfaction, managing staff, driving revenue growth, managing safari operations, and maintaining a strong presence in the local tourism industry. Your leadership and expertise will contribute to the overall success of our safari offerings and enhance the reputation of our brand.
- Oversee day-to-day operations of multiple safari lodges in South Tanzania, ensuring seamless coordination and excellent service delivery.
- Oversee day-to-day operations of our safari operations, such as maintaining the fleet of safari jeeps.
- Maintain high standards of hospitality, guest services, and operational efficiency across all properties.
- Collaborate with lodge managers, department heads, and staff to ensure the smooth functioning of all departments, including accommodations, food and beverage, activities, and housekeeping.
- Prioritize and enhance the guest experience by maintaining a deep understanding of guest preferences and expectations.
- Monitor guest feedback and reviews to identify areas for improvement and implement necessary changes to enhance guest satisfaction.
- Develop and implement strategies to create memorable and authentic safari experiences that align with our brand image.
- Develop and manage budgets for each lodge, ensuring profitability and cost efficiency.
- Analyze financial performance, identify trends, and implement strategies to drive revenue growth and cost containment.
- Collaborate with the central finance team to ensure accurate reporting and financial compliance.
Staff Management and Development:
- Recruit, train, and develop a skilled and motivated team, including lodge managers, guides, chefs, and support staff.
- Provide leadership and direction to staff, fostering a positive and productive work environment.
- Conduct regular performance evaluations, provide feedback, and implement training programs to enhance staff skills.
Community and Industry Engagement:
- Foster strong relationships with local communities, government agencies, and relevant stakeholders to ensure responsible and sustainable tourism practices.
- Contribute to the development of long-term strategic plans for the expansion and growth of our safari operations in South Tanzania.
- Identify market trends, opportunities, and potential challenges, and recommend strategies to stay competitive and innovative.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Proven experience (at least 5-7 years) in hospitality management, with a focus on safari lodges and tourism operations.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate a diverse team.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills.
- Financial acumen and experience in budgeting, financial analysis, and revenue management.
- Proficiency in relevant software applications, reservation systems, and MS Office suite.
- Multilingual skills are highly desirable.
- Strong commitment to environmental sustainability and ethical tourism practices.
