Many of the creatures in the Dar es Salaam Zoo are native to Tanzania, including zebras, crocodiles, antelopes, tortoises, gazelles, monkeys, hyenas, lions, leopards, snakes, and many bird species. A children’s area featuring slides, swings, and jungle gyms is also there.

One of Dar es Salaam Zoo’s main draws is the Nguva River, which supplies water and a cool environment for the local vegetation, attracting a variety of colorful and individually charming bird species, butterflies, and other works of nature’s beauty.
