Position: Finance Officer
Full Time
Main Purpose
The Primary function of this role is to support the Finance Manager, with the statutory accounting & reporting function, including
Treasury
- Manage petty cash
- Prepare payment requests to TRA & other statutory payments, payroll account funding, inter account transfers
- Review of import and export projects to ensure accuracy
- Preparation of sales invoices
- Preparation of inter company cost recharges
- Review of Work in Progress account to ensure all projects invoiced on time & all completed projects have been applied and removed from WIP
- Preparation & distribution weekly statements of accounts
- Monthly stock reconciliations and review
Fixed Asset
- Manage Fixed Asset Register
- Preparation of purchase orders
- Manage vendor queries
- Review of auto accrual accounts to ensure all vendor invoices received on time & all completed projects have been applied and removed from WIP
- Liaise with shared services to ensure that all invoiced processed correctly and on time
- Assist finance manager with identifying & managing accruals
- Process sales invoices through the EFD machine
- Work with advisors to prepare monthly VAT returns & payments to TRA
- Prepare monthly WHT returns and payments to TRA
- Monthly reporting
- prepare journal entries for month end close
- monthly PnL analysis
- prepare monthly volumes report
- monthly management reports
- Prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliations
- Perform KYC processes to onboard new customers and vendors
- Assist with regular compliance reviews/ updates on customers & vendors
Other
- Assist finance manager with
- preparation of annual budgets
- Monthly cashflow forecasts
- Annual audit process
- University degree in Finance, post-graduate certificate is an added advantage
- A minimum of 5 years of work experience in a multinational Organization – most preferably Freight Forwarding and warehousing
- Broad understanding of financial reporting requirements.
- Proficient in using MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
