Reporting to the Maintenance and Facilities Leader, the Electrician is responsible for a wide variety of electrical work, as it applies to the maintenance, repairs, and upgrades of specialized plant equipment.

JOB POST

Electrician.

Job Responsibilities

  • You will be responsible for preventative maintenance, repairs, and select projects made through the CMMS system
  • Install, maintain, troubleshoot and repair facility and industrial equipment,and associated electrical and electronic controls
  • Read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics and the Canadian Electrical Code. Test electrical and electronic equipment and components for serviceability.
  • Maintain, repair, test and install electrical motors, hydraulic and pneumatic electrical control systems.
  • Install, maintain, troubleshoot and calibrate industrial instrumentation and related devices, including SSRs, SCRs and VFDs.
  • A mechanical aptitude.
  • Previous experience in the glass manufacturing industry would be a benefit but not a requirement.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Industrial Electrician Interprovincial Red Seal
  • Excellent trouble shooting skills
  • PLC experience is an asset.
  • Strong English language communication skills – oral and written
  • Be a Team Player
  • Ability to prioritize workload and effectively meet deadlines while maintaining attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and contribute to a team effort when required
  • Available to work a variety of shifts as well as weekends and holidays
  • Being able to operate a forklift, scissor lift and/or Genie is a plus
  • You will be responsible for supplying your own tools, the company supplied a variety of testing equipment and PPE.
