Social Media Assistant

The Social Media Assistant will support the Head of Content + Marketing and Chief Executive Officer in developing DL1961 and Warp Weft World social media schedules and key initatives, product launches, holidays and events. This role will provide support for the day-to-day operation of social media.

You will be responsible for maintaining social media and content calendars for the brands, working in partnership with the Marketing & Creative Teams to brainstorm and develop content, curate an audience across multiple social channels, support initatives through meaningful and helpful engagements, and support new strategies while being able to work independently on special projects.

The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in social media knowledge, ongoing curiosity for news and trends, analytical skills, editing knowledge, innovative and results-driven.

Job responsibilities

  • Support management with developing and maintaining an aesthetic and brand that reflects the Company’s core values and ideas.
  • Partner with Management & the Creative Department to create original content for all social media platforms.
  • Partner with CEO & Head of Content + Marketing to conceive seasonal campaigns and ideas.
  • Create a social posting strategy that aligns with the brand’s marketing calendar to increase engagement, visibility, and following on all social channels.
  • Manage day-to-day communications and posts across all social media channels, inclusive of: Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, Pintrest, YouTube, LinkedIn, etc.
  • Curate a range of engaging posts, focusing on current product and key company events.
  • Maintain a voice in line with the brand’s messaging at all times.
  • Engage in conversation (including direct messaging and inquiries) with consumers in brand voice.
  • Augment usage of the Company’s blog.
  • Prepare weekly recaps of social media metrics, such as responses, channel growth, and leads for the following week.
  • Conduct competitor analysis and trend reports within the industry.
  • Ongoing curiosity for news and trends; constantly introducing new stimulation for the brand.

Desired Skills and Experience

  • 2-3 years’ experience in social media, including experience in a fashion house.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in marketing, advertising, journalism, creative or social media preferred.
  • Comprehensive understanding of social media platforms, affiliate programs, editing applications, & other best practices.
  • Preferred knowledge in Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Communication, creativity, and an eye for art direction and social media is a must.
  • Ability to grow organic likes and followers across prominent platforms.
  • Ability to network with influencers and key social media players and has a current list of relevant influencers is preferred.
  • Knowledge of international PR and markets preferred.
  • Creative and social media instincts in all facets of the creative process. Depth in photography, composition, typography, printing, video and design.
  • Ability to build strong cross-functional partnerships with teams including merchandising, marketing and e-commerce.
  • Strong understanding for brand development, advertising and multi-channel campaign execution.
  • Strong network of photographers, models, stylists and other talent.
  • Project management skills
  • Full-Time, entry level, non-exempt position, requires onsite availability.
