The provision of conference services is the core business. However, AICC also rents out offices at the headquarters’ complex and housing units in Arusha Municipality. The Centre provides health services through its medium-sized 32 bed hospital in the Arusha Municipality.
AICC also owns and operates the Julius Nyerere International Convention Centre (JNICC) located at the heart of the City of Dar es Salaam. JNICC is a multi-purpose built Conference Centre in Dar-es-Salaam city, with sophisticated audio-video, communication and information technology.
The Arusha International Conference Centre (AICC) lies in the heart of Arusha city, half-way between Cape Town and Cairo, only a stone’s throw away from Africa’s greatest Mountain, Mt. Kilimanjaro and the safari-gateway to the astounding wildlife of Ngorongoro Crater, the Serengeti, Tarangire and Lake Manyara National Parks.
The Centre has a total of ten (10) meeting rooms with a seating capacity from 10 in the break-out rooms to 1,350 delegates in the main auditorium. In addition, the Centre has reserved rooms for receiving VIPs and other distinguished dignitaries.
All major rooms are fitted with modern conference equipment such as Simultaneous Interpretation Systems (SIS), multimedia (LCD) projectors and other audio-visuals. The average total occupancy for all the meeting rooms when in use is about 2,500 delegates.
The Centre hosts an average of 100 meetings each year with a total average number of 11,000 conference delegates per year, thus contributing immensely to the socio-economic development of the City and the country at large.
AICC runs a 32 bed modern hospital with computerized laboratory diagnostic equipment, which include among others, an ultra-modern mobile X-ray machine, integrated dental chair, and ultra sound machine and physiotherapy clinic.
The hospital has set aside three executive wards for VIPs. An Ambulance completely fitted with resuscitation equipment is also available. The hospital caters for international clientele such as conference delegates, staff of international organizations based in Arusha, tourists, businessmen as well as local clients.
The hospital provides quality health services for both in-patients and outpatients. The hospital is staffed by a full time committed team of doctors together with more than eight visiting consultant doctors, mainly from the referral hospital of Kilimanjaro Christian Medical Centre (KCMC) in Moshi town, 85 kms from Arusha

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
I.To provide pre-operative for each specific patient assessments and administer appropriate anesthesia for a range of procedures to all ages and categories of patients, the aim is to reduce pre-operative mortality and morbidity with safe surgical care;
II.To display independent decision making – addressing necessary basic science knowledge (pharmacology, anatomy, physiology and physics) to permit safe, reasoned anesthetic administration;
III.To ensure the quality and safety of Anesthesia activities;
IV.To demonstrate safe selection criteria for implementing specific anesthesia techniques from General Anesthesia, Sedation, Regional to local anesthesia and Combination when deemed;
V.To organize and oversee the Operating Room at the Hospital and check anesthesia machine, supplies, medicine and gases;
VI.To compile patient’s medical information;
VII.To observe condition of patient during surgical procedure, including skin color dilation of pupils and vital signs: initiate remedial measures to prevent surgical shock or other conditions as required;
VIII.To manage Theatre list in safe, efficient and professional manner Communication and collaborative decision making with surgeons and other Theatre staff;and
IX.To perform any other duties relevant to the scope of work that may be assigned by supervisor.
QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE
Holder of Diploma in Nursing and Midwifery, Certificate of Anaesthesia or equivalent qualifications from recognized institutions and must be registered by the Tanzania Nurses and Midwifery Council.
