When will HESLB send student money to Colleges?

The Higher Education Student Loans Board (HESLB) today Wednesday (October 19, 2022) has started announcing needy students who have been assigned loans for the academic year 2022/2023.

Students get information through SIPA

The Executive Director of HESLB Abdul-Razaq Badru has said that all students who applied for a loan for the year 2022/2023 can get detailed information through the accounts they used to apply for loans known as ‘SIPA’ – Student’s Individual Permanent Account.

“Today we have started giving ‘updates’ to all groups, those assigned loans, which we are still working on and those who are required to make adjustments… everyone gets their information on the same account they used to apply for a loan, you don’t need to come to our office” said Badru.

In another step, Badru has said that HESLB has started preparing payments for new and continuing students who are beneficiaries of loans and said the aim is to ensure that funds reach the colleges on time.

Funds have been received, to begin reaching students in colleges this week

“This year, like previous years, the money needed for the students’ needs for the first semester has been received, … we are completing the preparation of the payment for the first semester, and the money will start reaching the students in the colleges at the end of this week,” said Badru.

Call: Colleges to submit exam results

Regarding the responsibility of the colleges, Badru has reminded the colleges that have not submitted the results of the examinations of the beneficiary students who are continuing their studies, to submit them to enable HESLB to prepare payments on time.

“There are a few universities, like 11, that have not yet submitted the results, we have reminded them and we insist that they hurry up to submit the results so that we can complete the payment of the successful students to continue their studies,” said Badru.
