East Evan College of Health and Allied Science -Chuo cha Afya East Evan,East Evan College of Health and Allied Sciences was established in May 2020; it is registered under the Business Names Ordinance. The Institute is situated in Dar Es Salaam, Kigamboni Municipal, Plot 91 Block D Kigamboni. Kigamboni is situated in Dar-Es-Salaam, Tanzania and its geographical coordinates are 6° 49′ 0″ South, 39° 19′ 0″ East. The Institute focuses on provision of comprehensive health science and technology courses that their delivery is tailored to allow students to access quality health science and health management skills at a reasonable cost.

The ECOHAS is an equal opportunity institution that is flexible to admit nationals and international with no gender bias. Currently, it offers scholarship for selected students who scores above the GPA of 3.5. Plans are underway to secure the contract with the financial institutions to extend the credit to students who wish to be supported financially. Students are admitted for short and long term technical courses; non-technical courses shall be introduced in the near future.

To complement studying we do emphasize on extra curriculum activities for the student’s physical growth including learning skills that offers students lifelong values. As the name stands this is the e-Institute that offers emphasis on e-learning while at the college. The process of teaching and learning is enjoyable, active and dynamic. We employ teaching and learning methods that promote creativity, flexibility and learning centeredness. Activities of the students in the lecture rooms and seminar classes are characterized by problem solving, discovery and self –direction. Students are partners in learning and sharing decisions that affect both learning and behaviour as we encourage both lecturers and students to debate different issues for the benefit of the ECOWAS and the community in general.

A fundamental role of the ECOHAS is to educate students to appreciate the complexities of the natural and human worlds in which they live and to prepare them to engage actively, thoughtfully and productively both in their careers and as citizens of their communities. This priority requires strong fundamental work in the sciences and biomedical research, but extends to investigations that move from the laboratory, to clinical practice, to the population and society as a whole.
