Social Worker Coordinator at Amani Centre for Street Children; Amani Centre for Street Children is a nationally registered NGO with branches in the Arusha and Singida Regions, headquartered in Moshi, Kilimanjaro. In Moshi, Amani is searching for a self-motivated, detail-oriented professional to assume the role of SOCIAL WORK COORDINATOR.

This individual will be responsible for supervising a team of professional social workers. The candidate who is chosen will be accountable to the Director of Programmes. Additionally, they will collaborate closely with Programme Coordinators in Arusha and Singida to guarantee that their social work teams operate efficiently.

Position descriptions include but not be limited to:

  • Oversee all Social work department activities and Projects at Amani Moshi.
  • Responsible for coaching and working closely with reunification Officers and Street Outreach Officers in the department to ensure successful reunification and safe rescues for Children and Youth supported by Amani.
  • Build positive collaboration with all stakeholders and involved Government departments and, when necessary, organise and conduct meetings with them.
  • A member of the Amani Management team representing the Social Work department at Amani Moshi and part of the decision-making team at Amani
  • Construct and manage social work budget.

Qualifications

  • Master’s or bachelor’s degree in social work. Sociology, Counseling, Child Psychology, or other related discipline.
  • Ability to build positive working relations with local Government, including the Police and Social Welfare departments.
  • Excellent command of English and Sw ahili, oral and written.
  • At least 3 years’ experience in a senior position in social work or a related field.
  • Proven excellent computer use in Word and Excel programs.
  • Experience working w ith children and youth will be an added advantage.
